Quality

Quality is a critical dimension of Westell's reputation and its quality performance is a crucial part of its ongoing success in the marketplace. The company’s Quality Mission is to supply reliable equipment of appropriate functionality in a timely fashion, balancing customer expectations with technical practicalities and commercial considerations.
 
Westell Ltd is accredited to ISO-9001 2000 standard.  
In North America, Westell Ltd’s parent company, Westell Technologies Inc., is accredited to ISO-9000 and TL9000.  
TL9000 is a telecommunications-specific quality system standard. TL9000 registration supports the telecommunications industry's goal of reducing the total costs of ownership of products and services. TL9000 provides processes for ensuring that customer expectations are identified, communicated, and fulfilled.  

Environment

Removal of Hazardous Substances (RoHS)
As of 1st of July 2006, all products sold by Westell Ltd are RoHS compliant. This followed an extensive programme of checking all components for hazardous materials and where necessary, sourcing compliant replacements.

Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE)
Westell is fully compliant with the UK Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations 2006 (referred to as WEEE), which implement the majority of the provisions of the European Parliament and Council Directive on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (2002/96/EC) (“the WEEE Directive”) and the subsequent European Parliament and Council Directive 2003/108/EC that amended the WEEE Directive.

The requirements on producers of EEE to mark products and provide information in relation the treatment of new EEE products came into effect from 1 April 2007. One of the requirements on producers is to be a member of a recognised compliance scheme. Westell Ltd is a member of the WeeeCare plc Scheme and is registered with the Environment Agency under Producer Registration Number WEEE/GG0003ZR.

Westell will also comply with the main requirements and obligations on producers and distributors of EEE that come into effect from 1 July 2007.
